Hi, Della! It’s great to have you here at Lomography! Please tell us about what you do and some of your interests.

Hi Lomo friends! I’m a photographer and artist based in Jakarta. When i'm not taking photos, I love to draw, and watch films!

What made you start taking photos?

At first, I just loved to document what happened around me, like when I was hanging out with friends. Because moments may be fleeting, but the photos I took stay forever.

What's your favorite thing about analogue photography?

The anticipation of when you have finished a roll, got it developed and scanned. Then the feeling when you are finally able to see the result. It feels rewarding!

What are some of your favorite film cameras and film stocks to use?

Lately I’m into medium format cameras, the Mamiya 645 and Mamiya RB67. I love using Kodak Portra 400, Cinestill 800T, Lomography Color Negative 400 and Lomography Color Negative 800.

How do you describe your style of photography?

To be honest, I don’t think I have a specific style yet. I describe my photography as “fluid”. I'm easily inspired by other creatives I see on social media. I love shooting portraits. There’s something intimate when I shoot portraits. I love to get to know my muse on a deeper level.

Do you have any film photographers that you look up to?

There are so many film photographers that inspired me, but recently I look up to The Sanren, and Sebastián Faena.

What is it like to be a photographer in Jakarta ? Please tell us your experience

So I actually love shooting outdoors and with natural light, but living in Jakarta doesn’t really support it. The pollution in Jakarta is bad so we don’t get good light everyday. Also, not every place is free to shoot, mostly we need to pay. And as a woman, sometimes I don’t feel safe walking around with my camera. So lately, I prefer to shoot indoors.

What did you decide to shoot with the LomoChrome Purple 120 ISO 100–400 film ?

The film itself looks experimental, so I tried to shoot in bright daylight with some green. I also tried to shoot portraits of my friend to see how the skin tones look. If I shoot with LomoChrome Purple again, I will plan it in advance.

What do you like most about the Lomography Color Negative 120 ISO 800 film ?

Gosh, I love shooting it at night/lowlight and with artificial light. In my opinion, the full potential comes out in those conditions. And the color looks very vibrant, which is good for fashion shoots. It’s has become my favorite film now!

Finally, what do you think of LomoChrome Color ’92 Sun-kissed 120 ISO 400 film?

I love the warm tones and soft contrast of the film. Like its name “sun-kissed”, it looks best when hit with bright light or during golden hour.

What is one thing you have been dying to explore further (anything from a place to a particular subject)? What is your dream project?

Honestly, I have so many listed. I really want to explore shooting with cinematic lighting, shooting more fashion brands on film, shooting editorial on film, and photographing Japan on film! My dream project will be shooting a fashion campaign for Yves Saint Laurent!

Do you have any exciting projects you are currently working on? Or projects you are looking forward to?

Right now I'm pitching ideas to brands, and preparing visual boards for some ideas I have in mind! I’m aiming for more fashion and couple shoot! And I hope I can keep shooting on film!
