Anyone who knows me, knows I love strange film - the older and stranger the better! And this one is definitely strange: Expired in May 1992, this East German slide film was made to be developed in ORWO process 9165, chemicals which have long since been discontinued.

Zenit TTL - The Teddy Bear Tank

This is my go-to camera when I need an extra bit of control. This SLR is heavy as a brick, clunky, and oddly comforting to hold. A bit of a tank. On the outside it looks much like it's older Zenit siblings, but it's the inside that counts.

This little baby cost me $25 on ebay. It's a great almost-point-and-shoot camera for lower speed films, and a fantastic alternative to an LC-A if the $100-$250 is a little steep for you. It's a little larger than an LC-A, but the freedom of the battery-less selenium light meter more than makes up for that!

One of the very first films I tried after getting my Nikon FE2 was a curious one called Konica Minolta Centuria 400. Performing close to both Fuji Superia 400 and Kodak Ultramax 400, it was one of the very first films whose results I really liked. Unfortunately, I am not sure if I will ever get my hands on some rolls again.

Testing an Expired Film of True Colors

I got some expired True Colors film from my friend. It was cheaply sold for 30 pesos -- a little short of $1 USD. So I tried these films in different cameras and I got exciting results. Although I was expecting that the color shifting won't do much of a hassle, the colors in these expired films came out different. The film was imported from Italy. I don't know how many films of these are still out there but it's a nice way to hunt out!
