Tsing Ma Bridge Viewing Platform, Hong Kong
3In order to take a closer look at the landscape around Tsing Ma Bridge, other than the hiking trails at Tsing Yi, there is an alternative for lazy bones like us: the Tsing Ma Bridge Viewing Platform!
Tsing Ma Bridge Viewing Platform is located at the northwestern side of Tsing Yi Island in Hong Kong. With area around 18,800m2, it’s the perfect place for sightseeing both day and night – just enjoy the pleasant scenery of Tsing Ma Bridge, Kap Shui Mun Bridge, Ting Kau Bridge, and Approach Beach; with the telescope which is provided at the viewing platform, we could even see the whole Ma Wan Channel and the Noah’s Ark at the shore.
Located just at the side of the Viewing Platform is the Lantau Link Visitors Centre run by the Home Affairs Department (Kwai Tsing Branch), which shows information regarding the construction of the Lantau Link and Tsing Ma Bridge, as well as models and videos concerning the above mentioned projects. What’s more, construction modules such as cross-section of the main suspension cable of Tsing Ma Bridge and Ting Kau Bridge are exhibited at the open area just outside the centre. After visiting the centre, you’ll surely be much more familiar with the world’s longest suspension bridge for both vehicles and railway.
There is a footbridge connecting the Visitor Centre and the car park; after enjoying the nice scenery, just don’t miss the lavatory located at the side of the car park, its design has won the golden award sometime ago!
