Strikingly colorful and uplifting, Pride Month is celebrated in June each year to highlight the diverse identities and experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community. With marches taking place in cities across the globe, individuals take up space to express themselves, celebrate with others, and of course, continue the fight against discrimination and commemorate the history of the Pride marches. In this Community Gallery, we're featuring photos from the Community taken during Pride Month!

Since its roots in the Stonewall riots that started on June 28, 1969, the movement continues to grow as many communities in different cultures continue to fight for equal rights, and the freedom to love and live out one's identity without social prejudice and violence. To this day, we celebrate Pride with the spirit of self-expression and the aim of de-stigmatization.

While our cultures continue to evolve, Pride Month protests across different countries show us that there are still ways to go before societies move beyond deep-seated stigma, which in many cases have led to unwarranted violence against individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community.

Pride Month marches themselves give us glimpses of what we hope to have in the future on a larger scale, environments where being safe is paramount, and where there's no room for discrimination against fellow human beings who live outside of dominant expectations.

Self-expression being the core of Lomographic images, it's always a wonderful experience to see Pride Month celebrations from different parts of the world captured across a variety of formats, cameras, and film stocks!
