Vicuna's Travel Stories | Sunrise in the Desert
written by vicuna on 2015-09-16 #placesBurkina Faso is a country that has three different climatic areas. It's mostly a land of the Sahel, very dry but with some vegetation and a short rainy season. The very south of the country is already in the tropical zone but the north still belongs to the Sahara desert. I had the opportunity to visit this area and witness a magical moment: a sunrise in the desert.

The Capuchin Catacombs in Palermo, Sicily
written by icomewhenieatcaponata on 2011-03-10 #placesIf you go to Sicily you can't miss the capuchin catacombs of Palermo, something that confirms the ghoulish side of this city. A cemetery that contains 8000 mummies, lined upon walls, lying or standing, skeletons, and perfectly preserved bodies. It was active until 1920, when the last body was interred. And hooray!
