Intimacy in Nature: A Preview of Cory Vanderploeg (NSFW)

When discovering one's individual artistic identity, the dichotomy of traversing between urban and rural environments can bring out more full-fleshed visual ideas than simply creating consistently within one's comfort zone. When choosing to or being forced into photographing in different environments, the only lasting constant is the imprint of the photographer on said environment, and can be a great tool in identifying underlying characteristics within one's style of images.

Cory Vanderploeg is a photographer based in New York, with an affinity towards working in both stark studio work and ace destination editorials. He sent me over some images of his latest trip upstate, this time for a weekend getaway with Click/Request Model Erica Candice, and I felt they just had to be shared.

As described by Cory:

"We went up north for a weekend to be in nature and in front of a fire. These photos were taken around our small cottage while we waited for the sun to set."

The Images were shot on a Leica M6, with Ilford Delta 3200 Black & White film and Kodak 400 color negative film.
