A Portrait of England's Yorkshire by Peter Mitchell
1 8As an early pioneer of color in documentary photography in the United Kingdom, Peter Mitchell has influenced English contemporary photographic culture. Known for photographing corners and people of the island in the 1970’s and 1980’s, Mitchell’s colors painted his photographs in nostalgia and impact.
Now, spanning from late 20th century to now, Mitchell offers his photographic love letter to the county of Yorkshire in Planet Yorkshire: Peter Mitchell which will open at the Impressions Gallery, Bradford on Sept. 16. The exhibit “Planet Yorkshire” is co-curated by Kerry Harker and Anne McNeill.
The exhibition will run through Dec. 3.
