Éméi Shan, Holy Mountain (Chengdu)

Likewise to the Moslems and the Christians there are certain tasks for Buddhists to do, on the way to enlightenment. It is hard to judge how long this tradition exists, but walking up the holy mountain of Emei Shan is such a cathartic move. This 3000 meter high rock is covered by clouds and a wild paradise for ugly monkeys and spiritual pilgrims. They take on the uncounted steep steps up to the peak.
