When I read about a replica of the galleon (old ships used for transport of people, trade goods and ammunition during the Spanish colonial times that connected the Philippines to Mexico and Europe) docking in Pier 13 for public exhibition, I hurried from my meeting to get to the port area. Luckily for a first day, the mid-afternoon visit was not overcrowded by curious Filipinos, tourists and expats. Even if it was just a replica, the sight of the Galleon Andalucia was overwhelming. When I stepped inside ship, it was just like being in one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Truly a memorable experience. Plus I was able to use my color filter for my cheapo camera.
