Els Jardins de Can Artigas
While visiting La Pobla de Lillet we noticed signs to a nearby gardens. we popped into the Tourist Information centre to find out more. Unfortunately the Gardens were closed on the day we were there but the lady working there offered to give us the keys and let us visit!
I think it helped that she was impressed with Angela's Catalan... just as well because the lady manning the tourist office spoke no English!
Els Jardins de Can Artigas: There was something about this whole village that rang a bell... The local Cement factory was owned by one Eusebi Güell who was Antoni Gaudí's patorn (And whom Park Güell is name after)
Güell built the gardens for Joan Artigas i Alart as a gesture of thanks for Alart's hopsitality
