A bunch of shots from Day of the Dead at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, kinda ruined by an overzealous Colorsplash Flash. I forgot to add a diffuser! Oh well. You live and you learn...
Wonderful album!! About 1966, I had a fat girlfriend, Rose, who had an interesting toy camera she bought in Tijuana on La Dia de los Muertes. It was a little skull shaped pink thing that used instamatic cartridges. The nose hole was the lens, the right eye was a tiny winklight flash, the left eye was the viewfinder, moving the jaw twice advanced the film, and it used 1 AA battery. It even had 4 f/stops, f/5.6, 8, 11, and 16, and 4 shutter speeds, 1/100, 1/50, 1/20, and B. Focus was close and far. All this in an elephant pink skull the size of an orange. It said "Hanimex" and "Hecho en Mexico" inside the film door. It had a black string strap, and a black tassel on the bottom. It was bizarre, and it actually took good, sharp pictures. It was stolen when her purse was snatched the following Easter. I've never seen another one. This is something to search for, The Holy Grail of Lomographic Halloween Tchochkes. Watch for it. You might be luckier than me.
