Took the last bus to Cabanatuan from Cubao at around 10pm and started my long journey to Aliaga where the famed ritual of mud people happens every year on the feast of St. John the Baptist. Locals, young and old, would walk around the village clad in dried banana leaves from head to feet and soaked in farm mud, asking people for candles or money to buy them. These candles are lighted in front of the church where a morning mass is held at eight in the morning. Documented the unique and fascinating ritual. Experimented with creative framing on the top and bottom parts.
