Coming from a 9-hr stopover at Hong Kong and a 12-hr flight to Germany, the 12-hr stopover in Frankfurt seemed eternity. Internet access could have saved me from boredom but wi-fi access is not free but expensively charged in Euros (unike in HK where it is free). It must be First World reality. So that kept my laptop intact inside the bag. I tried to catch sleep but the time difference between Manila and Europe kept it at bay. I tried reading a book I brought with me but after an hour my eyes would be tired. I had no choice but to just roam around the airport to make the most of the long stopover. I almost memorized the shops, the restaurants, toilets, snack bars, smoking areas, depature flight screens, gates and the faces of the airport police that seemed to patrol around in 2's every hour. I almost counted the people sleeping flat on chairs. Since airplanes were parked around the terminal I took pictures of them - the heads, the tails, and even the delivery trucks that bring in the cargo. You bet I was just too anxious to leave for Rio. LOL
