Trial and Error: Phosphene

1,119 Submissions · Finished ·

Recreate the sensation that "phosphene" brings through your sun-soaked snapshots.

Phosphene is a phenomenon where one sees light without it entering the eye, resulting to a perception of flashes of colors without it being actually present. For the nifty film photographer, it's easy to replicate this optical sensation: by playing with light leaks.

Whether intentional or not, this often unwanted burn on the negative can give off a cool, analogue vibe to any shot. Show us the most creative ways of incorporating light leaks on those sunny snapshots!

Each participant may submit up to 10 photographs. This competition serves as the qualifying round for the Trial and Error category.
