We, the practitioners of Lomography, do mischievously, proudly and joyfully proclaim our independence from perfection, conformity and digital domination. We claim the right to play, experiment, embrace imperfection and honor the analogue spirit. In a world that edits, filters, scrolls and erases, we, the Lomographers, stand for what is real, tactile, grainy and gloriously alive. We declare:

I

Everybody is equal before the lens, and behind it.

Everybody is equal before the lens, and behind it.

There are no hierarchies in the world of Lomography. No invisible rules deciding who is accepted. We henceforth declare that it does not matter whether you are tall, short or fuzzy, everyone belongs. Everyone is equal in our eyes and through the shutter of a camera – no exceptions.

II

We shall feel first, frame second.

We shall feel first, frame second.

Logic, rules and preconceptions – forget it. The first act of creation is never mechanical, it’s visceral, instinctual. Emotion drives the moment before the mind has a chance to intervene. Framing, arranging, refining – this all comes second. True artistry comes from responding to life as it strikes, not as formulas dictate. The frame is just a vessel for what the soul has already seen.

III

True creativity cannot be swiped, imitated, or reduced to a screen.

True creativity cannot be swiped, imitated, or reduced to a screen.

Life and those exciting sparks of creativity cannot exist in pixels alone. Life is about touch, thought, accidents, and exploration, and no screen can imitate that. The emotion of life should be explored passionately and with a love for the perfectly imperfect moments in between.

IV

We will remain analogue, even when everything screams digital.

We will remain analogue, even when everything screams digital.

The digital world is everywhere, and we do not deny it. We coexist, flowing alongside the digital tide but refusing to be swept into its depths. We choose analogue as a deliberate presence, as a protest and a resistance to efficiency and automation. In a world of pixels, analogue is your greatest ally to convey joy, love, surprises, passion, sex, curiosity, braveness, zest, courageousness, honesty, and discovery.

V

Forget the look.

Forget the look.

Perfection is a seductive cage. Style and appearance can distract or mislead. What matters most is intention. Forget trends and the curated moments that hide humanity. The look is meaningless without soul.

VI

The tactile and the imperfect are our heroes.

The tactile and the imperfect are our heroes.

In analogue photography, every photograph begins with the hands. The weight of a camera, the loading of a film, the press of the shutter – these are physical, deliberate acts. Every print, every frame, every development is touched by human hands. And in those hands, imperfection emerges naturally: a frame slightly askew, an unplanned light leak – fingerprints of existence that showcase a beautiful comedy of errors.

VII

Presentation is a mask, presence is a revolution.

Presentation is a mask, presence is a revolution.

True presence cannot be faked. To fully show up, in mind, body and soul, is to join the rebellion, on a quest to keep life more tantalizing, tangible and tasty.

VIII

We shall smudge, scratch, stain, and leave a trace as proof of being.

We shall smudge, scratch, stain, and leave a trace as proof of being.

Let’s tell stories that the algorithms cannot invent, and build histories that cannot be manufactured. Every mark is proof of being, that we were here, that something happened. Be proud. Be aware. Be alive!

IX

Meaning endures, even when reason abandons us.

Meaning endures, even when reason abandons us.

Life cannot ever be fully explained, measured or controlled. Only creativity, emotion and intuition persist beyond reason. What is meaningful to one may mean nothing to another. Any photo, any work of art therefore has meaning, even if you don’t see reason. Through shared experiences, discussions, debate, we can explore the possibilities.

X

Always show up, and never be afraid to show off.

Always show up, and never be afraid to show off.

Do not shrink, hide or hesitate. Claim your right to existence fully and without apology. The world needs your fingerprints, your view from your corner of the universe. Share your stories, find your voice.
