So I found this camera(www.camerapedia.org/wiki/Kodak_Instamatic_X-15) at a thrift store. Problem #1: it takes 126 film which is all but obsolete. After a little reading though, I learned that the camera/film cartridges could be reloaded with standard 35mm film. So I hunted down some expired film cartridges, cracked one open, and then rolled in some Lomo 800 film in the dark. The camera also needed a hack for the film advance mechanism. Without going into too much detail, 35mm film has too many perforations, and the camera needs to tricked into advancing the correct distance; this involved grinding down a small metal hook inside the camera, and drilling a hole in the top of the body to be able to trip the mechanism that locks the shutter. But it works now. Except that, even with 800 film, this camera should probably always be on a tripod.
