Island Screams poem by Cara Thompson - Turmeric Anthotype backgound

I recently had the honour to create an Anthotype on an amazing poem by Cara Thompson who is the Nottingham Nature Poet Laureate. The poem is called 'Island Dreams' and it was amazing to hear Cara perform it and other works on March 3rd at the Laureate Library Tour 2026. I coated the paper with dried turmeric in a 1:4 ratio with alcohol. Found feathers and leaves retained full colour after a few days of sunlight faded the background. The image did not develop well in borax solution, so I show the more gently gold coloured version.
