Did you set the focus to the closest setting, and how far were you from the subject?

@neufotomacher, I think it was set to the closest setting. And I got reasonably close (maybe about 12"...) The FPP 120 Plastic Filmtastic Debonair is kinda like a cross between a Diana F and a Holga, and you can pick them up for $20 from the Film Photography Project.
