Colors mean differently for all walks of life, but there are some that are just universally understood. Such is the color of cyan, the color of the vast horizon.
"Playgrounds" is a new series dedicated to the urban study of the Italian urban landscape, starting from my city Como and extending slowly my research towards the neighboring towns and occasionally also outside the province. I invite you to observe especially the background, the surrounding urban environment. There are no people, there are no children in this series. The background is so interesting by itself.
Prima di pubblicare le spettacolari foto dell'8208 Lighting Design Festival 2017 di Como vi propongo qualche installazione interessante ripresa in pieno giorno. A presto con le foto in notturna!
I am very proud of these b/w photos! These photos were developed and printed by myself! Some of them were from my first attempt of film development :) The story goes on
- This long term project will be made by a series of photos taken in the same place. Every time I pass in Volta Square in my city Como, I took a photo in b/w with a camera with a normal lens (from 35 to 58mm) I want to collect 100, 1000 or even more photos! This is a tribute to the movie "Smoke" by Wayne Wang.
First bunch of pictures from my trip to the Dolomites / Alto Adige around the area of Val di Fassa: Viel dal Pan, Marmolada, Lago di Fedaia, Lago di Carezza - and obviously a lot of lovely cows I met on the way.
When I saw these two guys in the park, both with the legs raised, I asked them if I could photograph their soles, to make a play on words; and entitle this series: "At the foot of ... the monument to the dead soldiers"! The answer was obviously: Yes, no problem; and the boy asked me if he should take off his socks ... no needed, I replied, the writing on socks is a gem!
Shots taken at the various sites of the Zeche Zollverein area in Essen. I haven't been there for many years and now it is more like a museum than an abandoned plant. Things change.
