Dans le cadre de mon projet de scanner les anciennes photos et diapos familiales, voici une intéressante série prise durant le service militaire de mon père, en 1966-1967. Il a servi en tant qu'aspirant, et ces photos ont été prises lors d'une mission de patrouille en Mer du Nord. Mon père est le jeune officier vu dans les 2 premières photos et une des dernières. Les autres ont été prises par mon père. La mission a fait escale dans le port d'Anvers, ce qui explique la présence de 4 photos touristiques de la vieille ville...

As part of my project to scan old family photos and slides, here is an interesting series taken during my father's military service, in 1966-1967. He served as a midshipman, and these photos were taken while patrolling in the North Sea. My father is the young officer seen in the first 2 photos and one of the last. The other photos were taken by my father. The mission made a stopover in the port of Antwerp, which explains the presence of 4 tourist photos of the old town...

Here I met Mamadou, who is an environmentalist and promotes Typha. An invasive reet-plant, that could be used also as insulation material in the construction sector. Mamadou loves Typha. Also to be seen is Albert, our driver to Saint-Louis.
