I agree.
When I think of the LCA I think of Russia and China (where it was, and now is, being made), and when I think of those places I think of communism. That's why I chose this design. And why not try it with Redscale :)
I personaly think it a bit dubious all this soviet retro nostagia... in terms of design and logos it looks great, but if you actually take time to think what has been done by people represented by these symbols all of a sudden it isn't so fun or quirky... i don't imagine they would even design a limited edition volkswagon with swastikas on it.
why were swastikas mentioned? this isn't a nazi design. what about the cross or our own US flag? think about what has been done by "people represented by those symbols" and you might never look at them the same way.
I'm not really refering to religion since i think thats opening a whole new can of worms, but in the context of the 20th century, fascism and communism have caused untold turmoil, thoughout the world, as have other political ideas, but these two ideas in particualr gave us the worlds two most notoriousy evil men.
I don't mean to criticise you too much since as you point out, in its roots, the lomo is indelibly linked to the soviet union and communism, but its worth considering the implications of political symbols.
I don't see how one can talk about politics and not mention religion since they are so inextricably linked. I'm assuming that by the 2 most evil men you mean Hitler and Stalin, don't forget Pol Pot. I don't think that Hitler should even be mentioned in this context. Just because people like Stalin and Pol Pot were communist doesn't mean everything communist is bad. You're welcome to your opinion (and I always appreciate them), but I seriously doubt people will see this submission and think mass murder/dictator/despot.
