Pushkar or „how Shiva became our family-priest“, this could be the proper description fort his story. Karma, our driver, warned us about this sacred place. There is a holy lake in the center and basicly the city was built around it. There are little marble stairways leading down to the water. And there are millions of priests. So Karma told us: „ The priest will come to you and ask you to beatify you at the lake. Then they will ask 500 Dollar in return from you. Don´t go with them. And don´t tell them, that i have told you. Because they will kill me!“ Ok, this is quite an explosive introduction to a new location. So what to do? We went into the city, petrified and not willing to talk to anyone. Boooooh. On the way to a cafe we met this young guy on a motorcycle, shiva! He wanted to show us they way...of course. Too bad that this way was ppassing the sacred lake. And as we approached he announced, that he is also a priest and he speak us the blessing, which we refused in the first moment. But his points were striking. After a beatification you will receive a red dyed bracelet, that tells exactly that. So without the bracelet you will be approached and annoyed by countless self-declared priests. Good point, because the day was still young! Ok, let´s do it. We received a plate with rice and little amounts of colour-powder together with blossoms. At the base he was saying his mantra and i must admitt his aura had quite an impact on myself. First in indian then in in english he was saying his words and pouring the colours, the rice and the blossoms into the lake. Then he asked how many family member do i have? We agreed on 5 and then it became crucial. What amount would i like to donate fort he beatification. And as always in India they don´t tell you a certain amount but leave it up to you ´pay what you can pay`. And this is bull. Because i can pay a lot more then it m
