In March, I took part in a twelve-day intensive in Tbilisi that brought together two New Cinema Schools. Students from Moscow and Saint Petersburg joined graduates of the schools for a series of workshops and film exercises. Over those twelve days, we made études, photo films, and short films, and on the final day held a public screening of everything produced during the intensive.

Tbilisi

A short walk in Tbilisi takes you on a journey through centuries of faith, from Orthodox domes to Armenian and Catholic churches, a synagogue, a mosque, and the remnants of a Zoroastrian temple. With its famous sulphur baths, generous helpings of Georgian cuisine and wine, it’s the kind of place meant to be a quick stopover, but one that ends up captivating travelers for weeks.
