In early September 2025, I finally made it to Venice, Italy. Visiting this floating city had been a dream of mine since childhood, ever since I stumbled upon an article about it in an old encyclopedia. Back then, it seemed like an unreachable fantasy. Even after moving to Germany, my first two attempts to visit fell through at the very last minute. But third time's the charm! These photos were shot on a mix of ORWO Wolfen NC 500 and Kodak Gold, capturing the warm light, the texture of the canals, and the timeless atmosphere of the city. I developed the rolls myself at home to keep the entire process personal. It was an unforgettable experience to finally walk these streets.

Venice

Built entirely on the lagoon, Venice, the celebrated “city of canals,” stands out as one of the world’s truly unique cities. This marvel of water has long been a cultural crossroads where the West and the East meet, blending Byzantine, Gothic, and Renaissance influences. This spirit of openness is carried on through the Venice Biennale, bringing artists from around the world together to celebrate the ever-changing language of art.
