I’d been holding onto this roll of Fuji F64D for quite a while. When I saw the cowboy and his two-toned horse standing against the sea breeze while I was chatting with a colleague by the beach, I knew it was the perfect moment to use it. That classic Fuji deep blue pulled out the texture of the horse’s coat and the light on the waves beautifully. The man rode in at just the right time, so I asked to take a few frames. None of the shots were meant to be perfect, but they came out honest—just like that horse quietly watching over the shoreline.
