Liverpool's Royal Liver Building which when opened in 1911 was one of the tallest buildings in Europe. The famous Liver birds atop of the building are named Bella and Bertie. Popular legend has it that while one giant bird looks out over the city to protect its people, the other bird looks out to sea at the new sailors coming in to port. The photos were taken one Winter's morning as the fog spectacularly covered the port and city.
