I took a weekend off and travelled to the ancient village of Hampi in the South Indian state of Karanataka. Nestled between pastures and boulders, the Vijayanagara Kingdom is a glimpse into medieval India. History and architecture for the soul - you cannot miss Hampi if you ever visit India! And don't forget to take a coracle ride to hippie island ;)
