Having no tattoos myself I always wondered about the process of getting one. I was fortunate enough to finally be able to witness it. Although some of the photos feel very close up I gave the artist her space while shooting with a tele lens. It's one of the things I love about film. All of these were shot with either a 50mm or 70-200lens and no flash. I don't think the same settings on a digital SLR would render similar images.
