Our Lady of Sailors

(ЦАЙКА-ІІ)
This is a religious celebration of fishermen, and all people connected to the sea, in Gafanha da Nazaré, where I work. The Lady is first carried on foot from the chapel where it usually lays to the piers where boats and people of all kind await her. She is then transported inside a boat and the procession continues through the canals, by boat, back to the chapel. It is a very beautiful demonstration of faith and respect for the sea.
