Yu-Sheng Chiu (b.1999) is an Ottawa-based photographic artist born and raised in Chiayi City, Taiwan. Her work explores how solitude, oral history, and the ever-changing definition of femininity have constructed her experiences as a Taiwanese woman in the geopolitical and psychological contexts.

She's currently running an exhibition under CONTACT Photography Festival's Open Call Program at Loohoo: Cute Gift Shop on 1380 Queen Street West, Toronto Canada. On view until May 31.

Chiu's work are held in private collections and exhibitions in North America, including Mount Allison University (2021), SPAO: Photographic Arts Centre (2021, 2022, 2023), University of Ottawa (2024, 2025, 2026), Analog Forever Magazine (2022), Lomography (2024), St. Laurent Centre (2025), Toronto Outdoor Art Fair and two of its curated collections-- Made This to be Heard and Crossing (2025), Ottawa Art Gallery (2025, 2026), Chinatown Remixed Art Festival (2025), Wall Space Gallery (2025), She Said Gallery (2026), Artist Project (2026), Art Gallery of Georgina (2026), CONTACT Photography Festival (2026) and John B.Aird Gallery (2026) while the list continues to grow. Her photograph also appeared in CBC Arts's newsletter, Hi, Art (2025) in the purpose of promoting TOAF64, after interviewing for uOttawa's Women and Media course (2022) which later became a part of the teaching materials for the BFA program's 4000 level courses.

Chiu earned a Diploma of Photographic Arts and Production from SPAO: Photographic Arts Centre in 2023 and expects to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Ottawa in 2026. She is represented by Wall Space Gallery, Canada.
