This shot is taken from a series of pictures I took while I helped my friend Simon with the making of a documentary short film about the Great Blasket Island, where he grew up. The island is part of an archipelago that is located at the very western end of the Dingle peninsula, in County Kerry, Ireland. We had the chance to camp there and wander around this magnificent place. If you're interested, feel free to visit https://youtu.be/62exRjjei7I to watch 'The Isle of My Youth', one of Simon's beautiful videos about the Great Blasket (which includes some Super 8 footage).

www.instagram.com/phfomin. A recent trip to northern Russia gave me the idea (as always, through a mild depressive spell) that it's important for me to shoot when there's a response.
If there's chemistry... everything's great.
But when there isn't, the process is intense, and it shows in the shot 😭
It seems like for me, it's not about the number of shoots, but about the state of mind I'm in. It's such a hassle. Meanwhile, here's the beautiful Marie!
