No. 1 9 3 - After the population of Klein Wanzleben became Lutheran with the Reformation, it was not until around 1840 that Catholics settled in the village again. They found work in agriculture and in the sugar factory that was founded around 1837.
In 1899, the priest from Meyendorf opened a Catholic school in Klein Wanzleben, which was set up in a room in the Denecke restaurant. Also in 1899, a piece of land was purchased on Fuchsberg, where a school building was built, which received its blessing on April 26, 1903 from Franz Schauerte, the Episcopal Commissioner in Magdeburg. - In 2008, on the 100th anniversary of its consecration, the last major service took place in the church; in the following years the church was hardly used any more. It was profaned on April 14, 2016.
