Incredibly, I received a package of long-expired film without any identifying marks. Inside this package I found a note from the factory "NPO Svema - Aerial photo film Isopanchrom TF-38). No information about ISO, the required developer, or any other instructions. The photography reference books did not answer the question - what is it? Obviously, I had something military-grade in my hands. After testing, the ISO was identified as 12-16, and the development time in stock D-76 was about 7 minutes. The negative on a completely transparent base has incredible contrast and sharpness. Detail is so good that it is comparable to fresh Ilford and Kentmere films. This emulsion from 1982 has suffered from careless storage. There is a medium fog on both edges of the frame, and there are small black dots.

Scans of Fomapan 100 on Lubitel 166 taken in 2025. The emulsion defects look similar to my Svema Photo 250 (check my profile). These emulsions have a similar image character and defects during long-term storage. These films expired in 2007. Processed in stock D-76 for 7 minutes

  • Bernard Herrmann - Thank God For The Rain

    shared by coffeescript on 2026-05-02

"June 29th. I gotta get in shape now. Too much sitting has ruined my body. Too much abuse has gone on for too long. From now on it'll be 50 push-ups each morning, 50 pull-ups. There will be no more pills, there will be no more bad food, no more destroyers of my body. From now on it'll be total organization. Every muscle must be tight"

  • 7 Lagunas

    shared by ars1997 on 2026-03-17

Over the course of a week (five days were spent on the Salkantay Trekking), I got to know a bit of Cusco, did the 7 Lagunas trail (near Rainbow Mountain), drove to Soraypampa where I visited Humantay Lake, and began the classic Salkantay Trekking circuit, passing through Colcapampa and Lucmabamba until reaching Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). From there, I hiked up and visited the Machu Picchu sanctuary before finally heading back home, covering a little over 120 km during the five days of trekking.
