When visiting London during this time in my life I had one song playing on repeat, which was Alabama Shakes' 'Sound and Color'. The song is about an astronaut who has been sent to find a new Earth, and after waking up from his 500-years sleep, realises that everything has gone wrong. He sits alone in his cockpit, remembering the sounds and colours of his past memories on Earth. When I think back of my time living in the UK, some of the strongest memories that pop out are the sounds and colours; SoHo's warm glow of neon lights, the subtle noises of people going through their day, the comforting evening scenes. I know I've moved onwards in my journey to find more amazing places, but sometimes I can't help but think - maybe just like the astronaut in the story: what would life be like if I had stayed?
A bus tour through the city with a stop at Perlan, Hallgrimmskirkja and at the Penis Museum. Lunch with a Glima Wrestling show close to the lake Tjörnin, and some free time for shopping in the afternoon. In the evening, a concert of the Eurovision song contest stars at the Harpa concert hall.
San Francisco is the 2nd stop for my holiday in US. Went to Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building, rolled around on the lovely park at Alamo Square and stopped by the famous Fisherman's Wharf. Love the weather and the place! :)
