What I like most about this film is the grain, that little blur that creeps in when we laugh too hard to hold the camera steady. Probably what makes a good picture is an image that's sharp, with some contrast, an interesting shape, and a good composition, plus that little extra something. The tricky thing with analogue photography (in my practice) is that I can't predict what I'll shoot beforehand, so most of the time I just try a new film and wait to see the result. For this series, I tried a new film from Marinette Shop, and I'm really happy with it for getting back into b&w. Last summer we went back to Marseille. We were already there in 2024, and I love going back to places I already know. When I was there in 2024, I was at the beggining of my learning analog photography process. This second time, I had a lot more knowledge than the first time (and a lot more cameras to carry around). Here are the results of that trip.
When I fell into the analog photography rabbit hole, I threw my friend Mirta back into it with me. She took her analog equipment out of the box where it had been sleeping for years and we went on a photo weekend to a naturist camping near the beach at Hospitalet de l'infant (Tarragona). It was the end of October, but we had beautiful sunny weather. We took some baths at the sea, we walked by the old railway, we took pictures of the cats at the camping, the seagulls on the rocks, the sea, the trees. We had the rollei Lensball to play with. It was the first time I took a little old doll I bought in Marseille with me to take pictures of her in places. It was a nice photo weekend.
Pictures taken on my little photo walks around Montjuïc, the mountain-park I live close to. It has become my training field for photography and, after living here for almost 40 years, I'm going over there more than ever. Sometimes with friends, sometimes alone, always with a camera.

No Tags is a queer techno party organised by some friends. A few Sundays ago we went up to the club and I took the camera with me cause I knew our friend Xei, one of the organisers and hostess of the party, would be there looking stunning and ready for a pic. I also took a couple shots when the lights went on at the end of the party. Hope to keep filling this album with more queer techno pics. In the clurb we all fam, you know.
