  • Scenes from art house cinema

    shared by grenville on 2022-09-17

I have recently taken out a subscription to the streaming service - Mubi. Here is a compendium of images from some of the films I have watched. These images are appropriated, not plagiarised! Washi film distresses my photographs in the style of Jean-Luc Goddard’s film essay - The Image Book. My first pick is from Black Bear, directed by Lawrence Michael Levine, 2020. I have reservations about the film, but this particular image is stunning.

I took these shots 2 years ago and I forgot to post them, for obvious reasons! This is the first film I shot with my Canon AE-1, a gift from a friend (it belonged to her late father). You can see the second roll in this album https://www.lomography.com/homes/fisheyemary/albums/2355566-4-new-cameras-part-4-canon-ae1-with-expired-lomography-slide So I don't know what happened here. This was an expired unknown brand film (24 exposures), so maybe the film is to blame (but I've shots another 4 or 5 of these rolls and they turned out just fine). Maybe it's the camera? If so, please take a look at the second roll and you'll see that none of these problems appeared. It's an analog mystery, certainly not my first one!
