The central theme of my work is the idea that art will always be a mimesis - an imitation or a representation of something. The work is also an investigation into the paradoxes and contradictions of making a picture - in preserving a moment of time you end up losing it at the same time. I explore Blanchot's idea that the work only reveals itself by concealing itself. I try to communicate a sense of temporality, incompleteness and a feeling of transience. I love that fact that eyes are not fixed to a certain way of seeing.
"There is no such thing as the still image, that the corpuscles in you retina are always dancing, even when your eyes are closed and eventually shape your dreams." - Nicola Bozzi
I also explore other art mediums.
