  • 7 Lagunas

    shared by ars1997 on 2026-03-17

Over the course of a week (five days were spent on the Salkantay Trekking), I got to know a bit of Cusco, did the 7 Lagunas trail (near Rainbow Mountain), drove to Soraypampa where I visited Humantay Lake, and began the classic Salkantay Trekking circuit, passing through Colcapampa and Lucmabamba until reaching Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). From there, I hiked up and visited the Machu Picchu sanctuary before finally heading back home, covering a little over 120 km during the five days of trekking.

  • Praia do Alto - Ubatuba

These photos begin a series of 3 film rolls that ended up disappointing me a little (the consequences of using expired film...), especially because of some of the photos that will appear later in these posts, which I took while spending two weeks in Ubatuba at the end of last year — one of the places I love visiting the most! Some friends even joke that “if God created a place more beautiful than Ubatuba, He hid it and kept it only for Himself.” Ubatuba is one of the most beautiful places along Brazil’s more than 7,000 km of coastline, with lush and imposing greenery, crystal-clear emerald waters, and the Serra do Mar (a geological formation that stretches across much of the Brazilian coast, where there is an abrupt transition from the shoreline to a plateau rising from 700 to more than 1,000 meters just a few kilometers from the sea), with its steep slopes reaching almost all the way to the ocean — like mountains that enjoy resting their feet in the warm waters of our coast. Ubatuba is the northernmost municipality on the coast of the state of São Paulo, bordering the state of Rio de Janeiro. The municipality on the Rio side of the border is Paraty, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, also very close to Ilha Grande (one of the most famous tourist destinations for people visiting Brazil). Still, Ubatuba often ends up being somewhat overlooked by international visitors to Brazil (except for the Argentinians, hahah). At the moment, I’m developing a few more rolls of film (this time not expired) that I shot in Ubatuba, and maybe they’ll be able to convey a little of the beauty, life, and colors that this place brings.

Trip to Japan #6, Day 5 - We spent the day in the Motobu region, in the north of Okinawa Honto, with our friend who was kind enough to drive us around. He showed us some fantastic spots for food and photography, and it was undoubtedly our best day on the island! Thank you so much ! (The next day turned out to be the worst... stuck in the hotel for 24 hours because of a typhoon! but this is another story) For this day of exploring—with overcast weather that might turn rainy (or not)—I decided to take along my Prima AS-1 and the Sprocket Rocket.

These photos are from the same day as those I took with the Olympus 35 SP, but with the SLR I inherited from my grandfather.
