Als ich unsere WM-Tour plante, standen natürlich viele Städte zur Disposition. Manche waren Spielorte, andere fielen gleich durchs Raster und andere waren ganz oben auf der Liste. Dazu gehörte auf jeden Fall Brasília – der feuchte Traum jedes Architektur-Aficionados und eine urbane Utopie. Ein Tribut an den vor zwei Jahren verstorbenen Oscar Niemeyer und eine Stadt, die 1987 zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe ernannt wurde.
Der erste Spot meines Brasilien-Aufenthaltes hatte es in sich – er war geradezu vorherbestimmt, das Highlight dieser Tour zu werden. Von meinen guten Freunden <a href="http://www.lomography.de/homes/magicbus">magicbus</a> und <a href="http://www.lomography.de/homes/bruna_me">bruna_me</a> hatte ich vor Jahren von einer faszinierenden Möglichkeit gehört, den Amazonas kennenzulernen. Sie hatten eine kooperativ organisierte Ökotour mitten im Reservat Mamirau gemacht – mit den Locals auf Häusern mitten im Wasser gelebt und sind tief in die Wasserwelt des Amazonas eingetaucht. Mir war klar – das will ich auch – unbedingt!

Ich fahre zur WM in Brasilien, denn wenn man den Fußball irgendwo einmal erlebt haben muss, dann in Südamerika. Hier ist der Ball der heilige Gral, der Rasen die Kirche und 22 Fußballer sind seine Jünger. Und die Massen in den Rängen verneigen sich vor den Wundern, die von den vielleicht talentiertesten Offensivspielern der Welt auf dem Spielfeld vollbracht werden. Ich konnte es schon einmal erleben: 2009 war ich bei einem Ligaspiel des São Paulo Futebol Clube im Estádio do Morumbi. Ein denkwürdiges Erlebnis.
