Ich bin mit dem Style und der Qualität des Films extrem zufrieden. Wie Bilder von früher. Perfekte Farben für sonnige Tage mit einem Korn - geht wie ein guter Tropfen runter. Mit der Empfindlichkeit von 400 ASA sehr flexibel. Ich liebe das durchstreifen der Strassen der Stadt. Dabei versuche ich die Essenz der Stadt, mit meinem Equipment einzufangen. Im Gegensatz zum Digitalen geniesse ich die Entschleunigung. Und da ich nach einer Kennenlernphase die Filme kenne, weiß ich auch wie die Ergebnisse sein werden. Perfect colours for sunny days with a grain - goes down like a good drop. With the sensitivity of 400 ASA very flexible. I love roaming the streets of the city. I try to capture the essence of the city with my equipment. In contrast to digital, I enjoy the deceleration. Die Mamiya 645E mit den Objektiven 2,8/45mm, 2,8/80mm 3,5/150mm sowie dem 5,6/300mm kann man nicht gerade leicht nennen aber alles passt in eine Cullmann Umhängetasche. Da ich noch ein paar alte AGFA Scala 200 habe war es mal wieder Zeit mit Fotomaterial das bereits 01/2004 abgelaufen war zu experimentieren. Ich hatte damals nicht alle Filme verbraucht da ich zu diesem Zeitpunkt gerade in der ersten Digitalwelle steckte. Allerdings ist der AGFA Scala ein waschechter SW-Diafilm. Der Film musste damals speziell bei AGFA entwickelt werden. Heute gibt es dieses Verfahren nicht mehr. Daher wurde dieser Film als SW-Negativfilm entwickelt. Anstatt mit 200 ASA habe ich mit 50 ASA belichtet. Und wieder ging es in die Stadt.
Neben den Schaufenster einer Stadt, faszinieren mich die Straßen und die Gebäude einer Metropole. Meistens sind dort Menschen unterwegs. Oft aber auch ohne Personen. Manchmal muss man einfach nur warten, 1 Minute, 5 Minuten, 10 Minuten oder mehr. Aber egal, das gehört zu einem Foto, welches man im Kopf hat, einfach dazu.
Banal, manchmal auch künstlerisch aber auf jeden Fall eine Dokumentation.
Denn wer weiß wie es hier nächstes Jahr aussieht. Oft komponiere ich die Aufnahmen als Doppelbelichtung. Nicht per Photoshop sondern als LiveDoppelbelichtung. Nur dieser eine Moment, einfach ein Unikat. Nicht beliebig sondern nur einfach. ———-
The Mamiya 645E with the lenses 2.8/45mm, 2.8/80mm 3.5/150mm and 5.6/300mm is not exactly light, but everything fits in a Cullmann shoulder bag. Since I still have a few old AGFA Scala 200s, it was time to experiment again with photo material that had already expired in 01/2004. I hadn't used up all of the films at the time, as I was just in the middle of the first digital wave at the time. However, the AGFA Scala is a genuine black and white slide film. The film had to be specially developed at AGFA back then. Today, this process no longer exists. This film was therefore developed as a black and white negative film. Instead of exposing with 200 ASA, I exposed with 50 ASA. And again we went into the city.
In addition to the shop windows of a city, I am fascinated by the streets and buildings of a metropolis. Most of the time there are people out and about. But often there are no people. Sometimes you just have to wait, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes or more. But it doesn't matter, that's just part of a photo that you have in your head.
Banal, sometimes artistic but definitely a documentation.
Because who knows what it will look like here next year. I often compose the shots as a double exposure. Not using Photoshop but as a live double exposure. Just this one moment, simply unique. Not arbitrary but just simple.

Perfekt, mit dem festeingebauten 2,0/35mm Objektiv, für die Straßen in der Stadt. Der XP2 Super wird im Colornegativverfahren entwickelt (E41). Er kann daher in jedem Minilab entwickelt werden. Immer dann wenn die Negative schnell vorliegen sollen. Durch die 400 ASA Nennempfindlichkeit hat man eine gute Belichtungsreserve die auch man gut auch auf 800 ASA ziehen kann. Wunderschöne Grautöne. The XP2 Super is developed using the color negative process (E41). It can therefore be developed in any minilab. Whenever the negatives need to be available quickly. The 400 ASA nominal sensitivity gives you a good exposure reserve that can also be easily extended to 800 ASA. Beautiful gray tones. Die Mamiya 645E, geladen mit dem mit dem Harman PHOENIX 200 120. Ein Schwergewicht in den Straßen der Stadt. Warme Farben mit sichtbaren aber feinen Korn. Der Film verlangt, wie ein Diafilm, genau belichtet zu werden. Eine kleine Überbelichtung führt zu verwässerten Farben, Unterbelichtung zu groben Korn. Die schönsten Farben ergeben sich bei sonnigen Wetter. ——— The Mamiya 645E, loaded with the Harman PHOENIX 200 120. A heavyweight in the streets of the city. Warm colors with visible but fine grain. Ancient monuments along the Nile. The films had to go through many X-ray inspections, and I was worried the films might have been badly damaged, but the black and white films were unharmed. Developed in Adonal 1+50.

Back in the 2010s, the Film Photography Project respooled some of the last stock of the Kodak Aerochrome III Infrared film 1443. So I shot a roll in a field of opium poppies (Papaver somniferum) that we stumbled across in Oxfordshire. Somniferum, as in sleep-inducing. Something that is both lifesaving and life destroying, for it can be used to produce painkillers or narcotics. Now that I am in pain and taking GMP codeine, perhaps it's a sign that I should finally post these photos.
