I got my first camera (Smena 8M) when I was very young. "It tastes like bakelite," I thought. What else could you possibly think at a year and a half? After a while, I stopped drooling on it and slamming it on the floor and finally loaded some film. Over the years, other cameras came and went, but this tiny scale-focusing relic is still with me and remains my favorite.
