I always wanted the traits the main characters in movies had — like Spider-Man, how he always got back up no matter how bad the situation got, or like Baby Driver, the way he drove like he understood the capabilities of four wheels and a gearbox, like it whispered the right things to say before the next shift and turn. I always thought how exciting it would be to live the life they had; I started to resent my own. But one day I found my birthday gift my ex had got me — two analog cameras. I thought, fuck it, what do I have to lose? So with every situation I put myself into to get that so-called “perfect picture,” I now look back and realize I’m becoming the main character I once saw in my favorite movies.
