I remember that photo, taken while I was walking somewhere along the Costa da Morte. The pigeon stopped right in front of me and stared at me intently, as if waiting and seeming to understand my visual research into the Atlantic.
These photos try to capture a wonderful tradition from my hometown of Santander. During autumn and winter, every two sundays football veterans gather in "El Sardinero" beach early in the morning to compete in the anual football league. Things like times and even the pitch's size are dictated by the tides, with waves covering part of the sides when the tide comes back up; sometimes, you need to wait for a wave to retreat while you take a corner over a thin layer of water. Players are expected to help build the pitches and place the goals and umbrellas are a common sight. Matches are quite competitive as there are some exprofesional players involved every year. #football
We spent the famous summer of 2020, coming out of lockdown after the Covid crisis, in the Basque Country. One day, with friends, we took the little train to La Rhune to climb to the top of the mountain of the same name - La Rhune (or Larrun in Basque). The border between Spain and France runs right across the summit, and we kept crossing from one country to the other... We walked back down. Second album following #344.
