I had a feeling this would look nice. It does! I definitely didn't expect the reticulation during development. The film was pretty expired but it is almost certainly my fault.
Graphic View II 4x5 camera with Schneider Symmar 150mm f/5.6 at f/6.7 on Ilford HP5 Plus film developed in Ilfotek DD-X for 9 minutes in an SP-445 tank. Lit with a 64" Paul C Buff soft silver PLM with the diffusion cover on a White Lightning Ultra 600 up camera left. Triggered with Pocket Wizards.
T-Faced Cowboy from The Rogues of Mandalore (https://www.roguesofmandalore.com). This is my son in his kit; he does excellent camera ready work. This is my first roll of Phoenix 200. Sent this off to The Darkroom for development and they did the scanning as well. Very happy with this quirkiness of this film. I am NOT a color film shooter choice, but the weirdness of this emulsion suits me. Shot this with the Olympus Stylus Gold Button (annoyingly the date function is on....need to tape over that). These were taken from January to April 2024 in various locations. This is my first roll of Phoenix 200. Sent this off to The Darkroom for development and they did the scanning as well. The light on this day in Tokyo was super harsh for some reason. It made everything really beautiful. One day after I shoot another few thousand shots, I will know exactly how to capture what I saw in my head. In the mean time, this will do just fine.
She is my best friend too it turns out. We have lived together in three different countries and traveled the world together. Pretty cool to have that in your life.
A really bad roll of "Fujifilm Superia 800 Xtra 4th color layer" that expired in 2004. I still shoot it regardless with my Canon Canonet QL17, then to my Minolta Sweet SLR. Its awfully yellow but with abit of colour editing, I can "restore" the white balance back, to get rid of the strong yellow cast from lab scans. :)
