  • Basilica Concattedrale dei Santi Maurizio e…

    shared by bassline_k on 2026-07-01

The Basilica of San Maurizio in the northern Italian port city of Imperia is the parish church of the parish of the same name and the co-cathedral of the Diocese of Albenga-Imperia. The Neoclassical church was built between 1781 and 1838 under the direction of Gaetano Cantoni. Its construction was intended to serve as a majestic monument to the Republic of Genoa and Porto Maurizio, a formerly independent district of Imperia.

Trip to Japan #6, Day 4 - Now, off to Naha, Okinawa (Main Island). The flight takes about two and a half hours from Tokyo Haneda—a place where I always love photographing airplanes. 😎 It was overcast, but I managed to capture a tiny glimpse of the summit of Mount Fuji! I’ll let you spot it! And then comes that magical moment when the silhouettes of the islands reveal themselves, floating on the Pacific...

Over the course of a week (five days were spent on the Salkantay Trekking), I got to know a bit of Cusco, did the 7 Lagunas trail (near Rainbow Mountain), drove to Soraypampa where I visited Humantay Lake, and began the classic Salkantay Trekking circuit, passing through Colcapampa and Lucmabamba until reaching Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). From there, I hiked up and visited the Machu Picchu sanctuary before finally heading back home, covering a little over 120 km during the five days of trekking.
