To really pull off the '60 look, and you're not doing Hippie, you need to wear a heavy, spiral stitched muslin brassiere. They have to look like they're made of steel, and thematic colours can be avocado green and burnt orange, with hair bleached blond with dark roots, beehived to the max, lacquered to indestructability, makeup in primary colours, applied with a trowel, wearing a square necked minidress and wobbling in 4 inch slingback pumps, smoking a Lucky Strike. This was my cousin Brenda in 1962, walking to Mass. i was there. If you go to Mass in San Fernando, CA, now, you will see women my age, ~60, dressed like this, lost in a timewarp.
