Hi! I'm Cat! I love to Lomo and have a good 20something film and lomo cameras. Doesn't mean I'm that good at getting the perfect shot, am still learning and would love hints and tips! Especially film suggestions. My weapon of choice is usually my LCA.

6 months agoCool - it's a horrible feeling when you think your camera is broken. Make sure you use "Silver Oxide" batteries not Lithium - they should be no more than a couple of euros each if you find them on the internet (they're about £1.50 in the UK)

6 months agoAs oldskool_rider says, change the batteries - and keep pressing it! The last time I put fresh batteries in mine the shutter still wouldn't work for a few days, but eventually it just started again(!) Almost like it just needed to be warmed up... It's not a very technical solution, but worth a try. Also, try rubbing the battery contacts with sandpaper to make sure they're clean. Hope you get it sorted!

6 months agoi bought an old LC-A off ebay really cheap, because it had a broken shutter, all i did to fix mine was to open the back, and just keep trying to shoot, and wind and shoot and wind...then now and then i would blow inside it and eventually a few small bits of ripped film fell out...now it works...might be worth a try?

6 months agomy beloved LCA's shutter has broken. should I repair, buy a new LCA or branch out and get a Diana instead?? I miss my LCA already :(

6 months agoThanks for the tip! Will give them a go. Have been using Snappy Snaps in Pimlico but the last few rolls have not been that great :)
