  • Community Workshop - film developing with beer

    shared by ck_berlin on 2013-08-29

Schön war es und vielen Dank für Eure Teilnahme. | Ähh? Beer? Yes! I tested this alternative developing methode for black and white film developing and it works good. Of course - the most normal developer are better but it is an option. | Recipe: 0,5 L beer (the cheap one is good enough), 25g washing soda, 9g vitamin c powder. 30 min developing time with 20°C. The other steps like normal b/w developing.

There was some smoke in the air from the fire in the San Jacinto mountains when I shot these which changes the color of the sky. I love how it creates almost a diorama effect in some of the shots. I could have framed some of these better. I'm going to just have to go back.

First proper outing with my Grandfather's Minolta X-300. The prints are crystal clear but for some reason (even after two shots of trying different settings!) the scans uploaded came out very poor quality.

This is my first try in 'splitzing'. I still need a lot of rooms for improvement. But nevertheless, worth a try. I will post up the D.I.Y. Splitzer later on.
