Diana F+ Modification: Exposure Timer

1

Normal mode on Diana is a fixed exposure time of 1/100 or “as long as you hold down the button”. with this mod you´ll get a timer, which is ideal for long night-time exposure and evening/indoor pinhole exposures. This means it only works in “b” mode. It´s pretty easy to do….

You will need: a small plastic bag or some kind of container, water or sand or salt or sugar or something similar.

1. Fill the plastic bag with water/sand/. Carefully, pierce a tiny hole in the bottom of the bag and hang it on the shutter release lever.
2. The weight of the bag should pull it down and when the water has drained out, it should snap back up.

Tip: You should definitely try this out without film, until you have found the right time(s) you want to expose. You can make markings on the balloon, depending how long it takes. Be careful when using water and sand, best to have something underneath to collect all the mess.

The Diana F+ is a new twist on the ‘60s classic cult camera. Famous for its dreamy and soft-focused images, the Diana F+ is now packed with extra features such as panorama and pinhole capabilities. Available in our Online Shop.
