Revue 100 (35mm, 100 iso) User-Review

6

Revue is/was the house brand of the huge mail order and retail company Quelle AG in Germany. The huge photography segment of this company offers Revue everything: cameras, lenses, film, you name it. I was lucky enough to buy some long expired Revue 135 colour film to feed my Lomo LC-A @ sunny 100 ISO and was really blown away by the results! I just wish I knew what emulsion this really is, masquerading under the name Revue!

The Revue 100 film trumps with lovely colour saturation. Sharpness and contrast are at the top consumer level and there is almost no visible grain under standard circumstances. I had no trouble with over/under-exposure at its rated speed. On the contrary! I made some really great night shots of fireworks with it when my SLR started going nuts on me and my trusty Lomo LC-A was still loaded with this film. I shot away with no remorse and was awarded with really great shots for an ISO 100 film :D

If you can get some of this film feed it at once to your favourite Lomographic camera, you will not regret it!

I'm guessing this film is a color negative. Where is it available and is it widely available or a small chain brand? I have never heard of it before.

sometime under the re-brand label there's the original brand cannister. for example, I discover that the cannister (I suppose the film inside too) of the Lomo 400 it's the same of the italian Ferrania Solaris 400 (same for the 100, 200 and 800iso and redscale too).

Hello and thanks for your comments :D I wrote this review about 6 months ago and it seems only half of it made it to publication :o
Luckily, I had it archived so here is the first part:

AFAIK the film is not sold anymore, that would make it premium german deadstock :O
I fully agree with superlighter, I will try to find out whether there are any hints at the original stock either on the canister or on the developed negatives. Furthermore the really saturated pics have not been shown here :/
As I am restructuring my home, I had it disabled, but I made the album public again, just for you :D You can view it here: www.lomography.com/homes/cyan-shine/albums/summer-memories
Tell me what you think :D
